Japanese, modern, creative cuisine. Everything fresh and carefully prepared, traditionally served on selected ceramics. On our KANSHA sets you will find a different dishes with a wide variety of flavors. We also offer delicious Natural wines and fantastic cocktails with and without alcohol. All vegan :-)
Amazing vegan experience. Service was very nice, food was absolutely delicious. Totally recommend.
We came across this restaurant on a short break in Munich. Very cozy ambience, nice and quiet, the service is very courteous and also gives excellent advice on the choice of food; and the food itself, well, just bomb! We each had a mixed platter with different components that outdid each other both in terms of appearance and taste. Very clear recommendation!
Great food, nice ambiance
Great choice of dishes with a tasty seasoning and unexpected flavors. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was very cosy. Nice experience.
The food was delicious- maybe not that great like in Youmiko in Warsaw but still a lot of interesting and fresh flavors. The service was also really good and professional. The only two minuses were radio-disco music and led lights on the right side of the room - it’s really killing the cozy and intimate vibes of this beautiful interior!
Best vegan Sushi ever!
Best sushi restaurant in Munich! If you like Asian food, you've come to the right place. And that without animal suffering, mega! The food - whether sushi or curry - is incredibly delicious! The creations are perfectly coordinated so that your palate is really spoiled. It has to be said that we are foodies and have already dined in Michelin-starred restaurants. The Kansha can definitely keep up! Great service, staff who know their way around and a nice atmosphere. Can only recommend this restaurant to everyone!
Extremely good vegan food. Great service and a wonderful ambience. Highly Recommended!
August 2020: We got a table for six people on Saturday evening at short notice. The staff are always friendly and are happy to help with the map. This is kept quite short, but with four different main courses there is something for everyone. All dishes are vegan and there are also different sets for two people e.g. The restaurant makes a simple but very well-kept impression. I had the Kanscho spritzer and the ramen soup, both of which were very tasty and reasonably priced. Nothing to complain about, gladly again!
Unfortunately, we didn't like it. Unfortunately, the price / performance ratio is absolutely not right. We paid significantly more here than we pay elsewhere and the food couldn't keep up. Hopefully it will!
Amazing vegan sushi and excellent service. We loved it and will be back.
Very friendly staff, flexible cook, sushi can only be recommended and the toilet has a wonderful, very unusual design
Compared to earlier bad, disappointing sushi at the same high prices, unfortunately. While there were artistic creations a few months ago when we were last, this time it was more reminiscent of sushi from the train station. The vegetables used were standard (cucumber and avocado) and sometimes unsuitable (carrot and paprika overcooked to baby food). The cook must have changed, but the prices have not been adjusted. We will not be going back.
Super delicious just a cool idea for the location
Amazing food - never thought vegan sushi and Japanese food could taste so good! The staff is also super friendly - definitely recommended :-)
There are many dishes in other authentic Japanese restaurants, in Kansha they are always a bit better in taste. A number of dishes, however, are to be regarded as a Kansha specialty and open up their own category of taste, which is actually exceptional. The ambience is simple, the service quick and friendly. The prices are a bit too high, even for Munich.
Insanely friendly service: The employees can even smile through face masks. Lovingly prepared dishes. Extravagant combinations turn simple ingredients into delicate taste experiences. There are marinated tomato fillets that can surpass the taste of tuna sashimi.
Nice food
Good food, nice atmosphere
Amazingly interesting vegan place! The menu is different sets of vegan sushi you can choose from - so they help customers put together nice combinations of sushi that cover different tastes. It’s not a big place, so be sure to book early. It is a great place for a date or a private conversation.
Well, as usual. But unfortunately compared to the last few times, more expensive with decreasing quality. Hopefully this trend will not continue
Unfortunately the quality has been changed... Past one was good, but current one is not so bad level. I am not sure the reason, at least the original Japanese taste has been lost a little. Honesty speaking, I would say it is similar with other FAKE Japanese food....So sad.
It was a very nice vegan restaurant.
I really wanted to like this restaurant. The food is good, but would have been so much better if we didn’t have to wait for it for more than 1,5 hours!! There was no other excuse than ‘it’s a Saturday night’. People around us were getting visibly upset and starting leaving. Reading back the reviews this seems to be the way this place operates. Prices are high, which makes it all the more unprofessional. We won’t be back.
Who says that vegan food can't be delicious? this restaurant is the real proof of this, as the food is SO delicious, gorgeous presentation and excellent service. despite the fact I'm not vegan, I enjoyed the meal, and I didn't miss to eat meat or fish in my meal... I recommend to try the sushi cake? but to be honest everything is delicious here so you can just ask for orientation to one of the people who work there to know what to order??
Very mixed affair of some delicious dishes (pumpkin chilli miso, most of the seaweed-featuring ones) with some very bland ones (agedashi tofu, tamago nigiri, kohlsalat, the regular miso) and some just in between (tempura, the simpler sushi rolls, and most mushroom ones). Service a little scattered (over attentive at times, under attentive at others). Overall not great value.
Each dish is a taste explosion, which of course also costs their money, but fully justified in the excellent quality. 1 star deduction because there is no window in the restaurant seating area. More recommended in summer, if you can sit outside under the awning.
For a place that should remind of gratitude, it really succeds in making me grateful for all the food I normally enjoy as this was probably one of the most distasteful meals I ever experienced. As a boost, the prices were by no measure modest. I would have opted for two stars if the atmosphere was at least a bit more authentic, but Adele playing in the background did not help. Would not recommend.
Very tasty vegetarian cuisine and original dishes. The ambience is very authentic and the service staff very accommodating. All in all a great vegetarian restaurant, which I can recommend with a clear conscience.
Very delicious and a great atmosphere! The conditions were super friendly and very attentive. The food takes time but everything is cooked fresh (you can even watch it) and it did not bother us at all. I would come back anytime - alone for the good Miso soup!
Great vegetarian restaurant with Japanese twist. Besides sushi, there are also a few alternatives. Worth if you are in the corner.
Loved this place, wide variety of food. My husband and I were in the mood for sushi and had no idea that this place was vegan. We ordered a selection of items from the menu and were very pleasantly surprised. Food tasted great, the staff is very friendly, if we lived in Munich we'd definitely visit again.
This Japanese restaurant is absolutely amazing! Come here with a few people and you'll be delighted. Also non-vegans will love the small platters with nicely garnished delicacies on the. Definitely try this place when you're around. Very recommendable with reasonable prices.
Great fully Vegan Japanese restaurant in a lovely part of the city! Friendly staff and good prices for great quality food ? definitely recommend the carot cake and chocolate mousse deserts!
Vegan, Buddhist-Japanese-style restaurant in the heart of Schwabing. Here are very delicious dishes that you get nowhere else. The service is unobtrusive and attentive, the food outstanding, but in the upper price range. Highly recommended and always worth a visit! 07/13/2019
Category: Real Experience Many Surprises to our palate Cusine: Japanese, shojin ryori Food: Excellent Service: Excellent Really great place. A must when in Munich. We wish we had a restaurant like that in our city. Thank you Kansha Team
Wow wow wow ? I do not remember how I found this gem but I'm so happy to finally have eaten here today. We were both excited. Each of us has chosen a set menu, before Edamame and afterwards a sinfully good chocolate mousse, which we forgot to take pictures because of chocolate crappy. The menus were lovingly done, abundant by the crowd, creatively put together and made our bellies happy. Everything vegan, everything delicious. Selection of exceptional cocktails is also available. The service was fast and very accommodating. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated with atmospheric lighting. Even the toilets are worth a visit ☺️ The menu changes every two weeks, we were told. It remains culinary exciting and certainly not my last visit ❤️
Delicious and insanely creative, what a wonderful little restaurant!
This is a vegan restaurant where you don’t have to be vegan at all to love every plate they put in front of you. I am not vegan but I would gladly recommend this place to anyone looking for good sushi. Every dish is beautifully prepared, fresh, and flavorful. And the dessert really blew me away.. the carrot cake and chocolate mousse are so good and authentic I really couldn’t believe there was no butter, egg, or dairy. It was an awesome experience with friendly staff with the added bonus that they have their menus available in English.
It was our first visit to a Japanese restaurant and it was really an experience. Reservation was easier, service was prompt and the staff friendly. The ambience was great, soft music plays in the background. When our food arrived, the woman explained us our dishes in our set. The food was just ok but I loved the presentation and the simple flavours of the dishes in the main course. But still the prices are a bit unfair; it's more on the expensive side. And the waiter wasn't very friendly, was having a bad day maybe. She included the tip in our card payment without asking us the amount. We found it very disrespectful.
Really amazing, vegan Japanese food. Much more than your typical machi or California rolls, every dish was a tasty surprise. The interior is stylish and you can also get delicious Japanese cocktails. I would highly recommend this place to anyone interested whether they eat meat or not, as it’s such a delight!
Very nice experience. The location is pretty as much as the food which looks really great. I would have loved it a bit more spicy or hot, but that s a personal taste. Service was good.
Worst restaurant I have been to in a long time!! IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES DO NOT GO HERE- IT IS NOT SAFE. I went to this restaurant last week with a group of friends. I have a serious nut allergy that is life threatening and I informed the staff as the first thing I did when ordering. I was assured all would be made nut free. After 70 minutes of waiting for our food, I was given a plate FULL of nuts. I had to send the food back 3 times as there were still nuts in my food every single time. In the end we agreed they were unable to feed me without killing me so I ate nothing for dinner. They said the food would be free but when the bill came it was included. We had to then re-do the bill again. I have never seen a restaurant care so little about potentially killing someone and I have never seen a service so slow and ignorant before.
Vegan, Japanese, excellent service, accept cards. Ordered one of their sets and a series of main dishes, wish were all delicious. Their menu is supposed to change with the seasons, so certainly worth going back in while more.
We were craving for some Japanese food and found Kansha on Google maps. However, we did not realise it was a vegan restaurant. It was only when flipping through the menu that I realised something was "wrong". However, we decided to stay on and it was a good decision at the end. It is commendable to serve vegan Japanese food when the majority of Japanese cuisine is so heavily non vegetarian. However, it served as a good reminder that an equally important aspect of Japanese cuisine, the Buddhist shrine vegetarian cuisine, is just as delicious and intricate as the mainstream Japanese food. It is even more commendable to be able to taste something like this, because you don't typically get to eat in a Buddhist shrine even if you were in Japan. The quality and presentation were impeccable, even though the wait was a bit long, but it was worth it. To satisfy an omnivore like me is not always easy, but Kansha really exceeded my expectations. Drinks menu was also very good: nothing tasted too sweet or artificial. The Kansha schorle and all citrus detox water were really refreshing and complimented the dishes. The service staff were very warm and friendly, and the decor and serviceware were of top quality. We were especially impressed by the attention to detail when it came to the fresh flowers used for the table decor. Highly recommended if you want to try something different from your "regular" Japanese food.
Successful surprise, The Kansha restaurant on the Münchner Freiheit, which opened just a few months ago, surprises its guests in a particularly impressive manner. Many small plates with wonderfully created vegetarian delicacies. It does not taste vegetarian. Agedashi tofu, four kinds of nigiri, separated cauliflower, etc., very yummy. But you should definitely book in advance and bring plenty of time. Everything fresh, creatively decorated at very fair prices. At our Christmas party all participants were thrilled!
Great service, very tasty food and cocktails, stylish interior. I will definitely go there again.
What an experience! The flavours were amazing, I will definitely be coming again. It was worth the money and we were full after the sets, but we ordered dessert anyway :)
Surprising but delicious hybrid of Buddhist temple cuisine and sushi.
The set offered me good, but I had expected a little more variance in taste in the upscale atmosphere and price. The selection of the set was varied, however. The service was very friendly and attentive, explained the dishes in detail. When online reservation should be noted, however, that there is only at 18 o'clock something to eat.
